Great price, decent productJun 25, 2009
By Tyler Kamstra The cable tester isn't incredibly informative (it will simply blink green lights for working cables), but it's very easy to set up and use.
The crimpers are decent. They don't lock fully closed, which makes them slightly annoying to store, and the stripper blades (furthest from the handles, as I just noticed recently) are just slightly too close together, and tend to damage the internal wires of the cable. However, if you're careful when using them, the crimpers get the job done fairly well.

A defective lot?Aug 15, 2010
By HiTechHiTouch This tester has a tri-color LED to display red for reversed connections, or green for normal connections. The one I received always displayed yellow (red & green together) for both normal and reversed connections. This, plus the low price, leads me to believe they bought a defective lot.
The crimper has a latch to hold it closed which broke off almost immediately after first use.
If you are going to build/repair one or two cables, go for this. Otherwise get something better.
Instructions for the tester were 1) a mis-mash for 7 different models, and 2) most difficult to understand. If I didn't already know how it was supposed to work, I'd never have figured it out.

It's a good productFeb 10, 2009

It is a very good price for a cable tester and a crimper. My only complaint is that the tester doesn't come with a real manual, so you'll have to keep the package because instructions are written there.
Also, if you work with telephone cables, don't expect to make those yourself with the crimper that is included. However, it works well with RJ45 cables!
not aligned with RJ45 Pins,waste of time.Dec 13, 2011
By gangs It had destroyed 3 RJ45 connectors before i realized that the tool is bad. The alignment of the slots on the tool with the pins on RJ45 was off thus leaving one of the pins not crimped at all. I am returning it.
OK Crimper, Poor TesterJan 07, 2011
By Bruce I bought this set in order to run 9 lines for my home network. by the time I had tested three lines the tester gave up and stopped working correctly. I got the job done, but it could have been better. The cripper did fine, cut great, crimped good, no issues with it.
I would just choose a better set with a better tester if I was doing it again.
